Where kitchen space allows, islands are
a good way to increase the amount of storage and working space
available. The first two photos show an oak island that features full-depth pull-out storage shelves and drawers with a hard maple butcher block top. The finish on the cabinets is Minwax Ipswich Pine stain.
The third photo is a cherry island finished with Washington Cherry stain and a overhanging countertop to accommodate several bar stools.
