FINISHES

At Advantage Woodworks we use Minwax TM products for our standard finish. You can select from any of the 101 colors below to finish your purchase at no additional charge. Unless specified otherwise, all Advantage Woodworks pieces receive a minimum of two coats of Minwax TM polyurethane varnish over whatever stain is chosen. We use polyurethane because it is substantially more durable than the fast drying lacquers used by many wood finishers.

We can also custom match stain colors on request. There is an additional $20.00 charge for doing this. Please call us if you wish to custom match a stain color.

Please understand that color rendition varies from monitor to monitor and also from one sample of wood to another and as such there will likely be some slight variation in the colors shown and in the final product. If you would like to see better samples of the stain colors, many home centers carry the Minwax TM product line, and will have printed stain charts available.

Please also note that these stains are shown on OAK. If used on other woods, the results will vary considerably. On MAPLE, the stains will be considerably lighter than shown.

Minwax TM Oil-Based Stains A rich, penetrating oil-based stain. Ideal for enhancing woodgrain. These samples are shown on oak, but may be used on other woods as well.

Minwax TM PolyShades Finishes A combined stain and finish that provides rich wood color and the protection of durable polyurethane varnish. These samples are shown on oak, but may be used on other woods as well.

An oil based wood stain which provides a soft pastel
color while highlighting the grain of the wood.
